Canine behaviourist and nutritionist Morag Sutherland reviews this book written by an integrated vet qualified in CAM treatments including homeopathy. It is a complete and comprehensive guide to health care for cats and dogs, providing invaluable advice on essential aspects of care such as diet and vaccinations, as well as a guide to holistic treatments.

Tycho’s Tales ~ A Rescue Dog’s Holistic Journey
Tycho was found dragging himself through a ditch, with open sores on the tops of his paws and unable to move his hind end. X-rays showed no major breaks and the local vet concluded it was likely a herniated disc pressing on the spinal cord. Given pain relief and NSAIDs, a week later he was able to stand, but this became a stationary moment in his recovery. One video call between Yasmin from Yorkshire Pooches Therapies and Elisa his rescuer (Do Good Romania partnered with Lucky’s Legacy Rescue), and Tycho took a couple of wobbly steps. This boy has a chance, but it is going to take A LOT of work!
The Case for a Species-Appropriate Diet For Dogs
Vet nurse Morag Sutherland and vet Nick Thompson, both members of the Raw Feeding Veterinary Society (RFVS), wrote a comprehensive and detailed article that appeared in the 14 August 2020 edition of Our Dogs. The article includes peer reviewed literature and serves to counter all the main arguments that are typically put forward against feeding a species-appropriate diet. It is of interest if you are considering raw feeding your dog.
Victor the Rescue Dog
Victor is a big handsome chap who certainly stole my heart. As an animal therapist, it is never easy seeing any animal in discomfort, but there was something about Victor that really broke my heart in two. Having started life on the streets of Romania, now should have been his time to live a full and happy life, but sadly this wasn’t the case……
